Our weekly camps offer a full complement of drills, skills, and gameplay. Athletes will enjoy position-specialty sessions along with individual skill and team instruction. Camps combine a blend of physical and technical training in conjunction with game strategy and mental toughness.

Participants in our weekly programs will receive a camp t-shirt as welll as a group photo and written evaluation at the end of camp week.

Eligiblity

Our camps are open to girls who will be in grade 4 and older as of September 2024.

Camp Director and Lead Coach

Paul Koot continues to lead our summer volleyball programs. Coach Paul is a successful provincial and national championship coach with over four decades of coaching experience. He is an NCCP Advanced Development Coach (formerly level 3).

Each group is led by highly experienced head coaches with competitive club volleyball coaching experience.

Durham Rebels coaches must undergo background screenings, Safe Sport certificate, and participate in the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). Members from our alumnae and senior competitive club teams assist head coaches.

All Skills: $350 per week
High Performance: $380 per week
Senior Micro Camp: $80 per day

Athletes who do not have a 2023/2024 OVA membership must purchase a recreational role membership for $12.91. See Ontario Volleyball Membership section for details and instructions.

Full payment is due at time of registration. Sorry, refunds are not issued if a participant misses all or part of their session.

One-week Camps (All Skills and High Performance)

Requests for refund must be received, in writing, no less than 14 days prior to the start of camp. The refund policy must be acknowledged and accepted when completing your program registration waivers.

Senior HP Micro Camps

Micro Camps are non-refundable after May 31. Please be sure to check your summer schedule before registering.

Days / Hours

Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Facility rules require athletes to arrive after 8:20 a.m. and be picked up promptly at 3:30 p.m. We do not offer before or after-camp child care.

Location

This year we will be using all 5 courts at Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre (Durham College/ OTU)
21 Avenue of Champions, Oshawa

The CRWC is located inside Durham College’s north Oshawa campus. All parking at this facility is paid parking so parents may drop off and pick up athletes at the drop-off loop. Staff will be there 10 minutes before drop-off and at pick-up time. Please be aware that camp staff are not permitted to approach vehicles.

Provincial laws now require the parent/guardian of any youth sport participant to acknowledge and complete concussion protocols and waivers annually. This process is managed through the Ontario Volleyball Association’s (OVA) membership registration system. No athlete will be allowed to participate unless they show proof of a current OVA membership in their name. If your athlete does not have a 2023/2024 membership, please purchase a “recreational role” membership ($12.91) for your athlete at https://mrs.ontariovolleyball.org/Account/Login. IMPORTANT: You will register the athlete, not the parent, and add the parent(s) as the contact; membership must be in the name of the athlete.

If you are not receiving suitable program options when making your program selections, please ensure the athlete’s gender and date of birth are correct. Athletes must have OVA team experience (or played on grade 9 or older high school team) for the High Performance camps.

You can obtain a copy of your receipt and selected program by logging into your TeamSnap account through a browser, scrolling down to your registrations, and choosing View Receipt.

All participants will receive an email the week prior to the start of camp but most of the details you require can be found by reviewing the What to Bring section below.

Athletes may check in after 8:15 a.m. and should arrive in comfortable athletic clothing. Please bring:

  • Large refillable water bottle (please do not send disposable bottles)
  • Peanut/nut-free litterless lunch and snacks (additional allergy restrictions may be in place, you will be notified)
  • Clean, indoor running shoes
  • Knee pads (optional, but recommended)
  • Small face cloth or sweat rag
  • Participants with Epipens and/or emergency medication such as inhalers should notify their group’s head coach at check-in and identify where the emergency medication can be found
