Camp update

Week 1 campers (July 8-12). Please check for a July 3 email that contains further details with respect to camp. A second email was sent today outlining the requirements surrounding Rowan’s law that came into effect this month. If you did not receive these emails, please check your spam or contact register@drvcvolleyball.ca if you need these re-sent. Add @drvcvolleyball.ca to your safe senders list.

Campers in week 2 and 3 can go ahead and complete the required Concussion Code of Conduct online acknowledgement: Concussion Code of Conduct. We will send further camp information to week 2 and 3 campers the week before they’re scheduled to attend camp.

We look forward to welcoming our first group of athletes this Monday! If you’re still looking to get in on the fun, send us an email and let us know which week you’re looking to attend.

12 Crush: Provincial CHAMPIONS!

Congratulations to our own 12U Crush who have just been crowned ONTARIO PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONS. Crush was one of 48 teams competing in the 12U division in Waterloo for the Ontario Provincial Championships that wrap up the season for our 12U athletes. It took 7 games and 15 sets (losing just 1 set all weekend) for Crush to to earn the title of Division 1 Tier 1 Champs. Congratulations to our player and coaches and a special thanks to the most supportive parents a team and club could ask for. 12U Crush players are Jessica Elford, Emily Jackson, Taylor Landers, Taylor Leblanc, Megan Mokus, Camryn Penny, Isla Senft, Sophie Smith, and Reese Van Volsen. Scott Senft and Cassandra Leblanc are in their second year of coaching our 2007 players at DRVC.

We look forward to bringing you a summary of all of our team’s accomplishments at provincials. While not every team comes home with a medal, all have improved their ranking this season and that’s progress we can be proud of — marathons, not sprints!

Durham Rebels is working hard to create solid foundation programs for our youngest athletes. Most of our junior rep athletes come from our summer camps and Learn to Play programs. There’s just 3 spots left in week 3 of our summer camp while week 1 has just 10 spots — don’t miss your chance to take part in a program that focuses on skill development and fun! Register soon!
