art2012_u16_humber += "To many, success seems to come suddenly.  When you observe others who are successful at the game, you usually don't appreciate what it has taken for them to get where they are.";
art2012_u16_humber += "  Ultimately, in failing to do this, you also fail to learn what it would take for you to attain the same level of achievement.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16_humber += "But, if you take the time to truly think about it, you will find that success is usually only a small step away.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16_humber += "For your volleyball team, your coaches will serve as compass to help you maneuver around the obstacles that you will face this season.  ";
art2012_u16_humber += "Together, you will be able to conquer what seem to be endless mountains. They will help you walk in a straight line so you don't deviate from the team path.  ";
art2012_u16_humber += "That means that whatever obstacle you encounter on the way can be overcome.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16_humber += "Your parents will serve as crutches that you can fall back on when it is hard to go on due to bruises, scrapes and scratches.  ";
art2012_u16_humber += "You will be replenished with encouraging words and water and be led to the pack.  You will be on your way to success, after the coaches have given you all the tools needed and turn the responsibility over to you.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16_humber += "Just take it one step at a time.  Don't worry about what will happen later; just think about each step. . .one small step to success. . .Take a break, if you must, but don't give up!<br /><br />";

art2012_u16_scorpions += "With no OVA 16U tournament this weekend, the 16u girls competed in an invitational tournament hosted by Scorpions Volleyball out of Cambridge.";
art2012_u16_scorpions += "I think the email sent to all the girls from Mitch and Sean says it all . . .:<br /><br />";
art2012_u16_scorpions += "<i>Hey everyone,<br /><br />Just wanted to take a minute to congratulate all the girls for their great performance yesterday!&nbsp;&nbsp;They showed a lot of teamwork, communication and integrity as well as maintaining a high level of play throughout the entire day.&nbsp;&nbsp;It was amazing to see them bond and become one unit moving in sync with each other on the court.&nbsp;&nbsp;Everyone contributed and stayed positive and focused during all the matches.&nbsp;&nbsp;The other teams were confused to say the least.&nbsp;&nbsp;Both Sean and I were approached by parents from other clubs telling us how they enjoyed watching us play!&nbsp;&nbsp;The best example of grit and determination was when Myriam got hurt.&nbsp;&nbsp;The team seemed to rally and was not going to let that stop them from winning!&nbsp;&nbsp;Erin stepped in to play middle (great job) and all the girls made adjustments in the rotation to get the job done.<br /><br />Sean and I are very proud!&nbsp;&nbsp;It's nice to see you guys play to your potential.&nbsp;&nbsp;Looking forward to seeing a lot more of that kind of play from here to Nationals.&nbsp;&nbsp;Rest and heal those battle wounds.<br /><br />We will continue in the right direction by working hard at every practice and fighting for every point.&nbsp;&nbsp;Thanks to all the parents for their support as always!!!</i><br /><br />";

art2012_u16o_stingers += "For the first tournament of the season, the DRVC 16U Orange Team travelled to Unionville.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16o_stingers += "In the first game, the team played The Markham Stingers.&nbsp;&nbsp;The first set was taken by us with a score of 25-23.&nbsp;&nbsp;The second set turned out to be a battle with a 17-25 loss.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16o_stingers += "Durham Attack Red Team was Orange's second opponent.&nbsp;&nbsp;The girls showed their practicing had paid off, taking the first game 25 - 17 but losing the second game at a close 21 - 25.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16o_stingers += "In the final game of pool play, Orange faced the Oakville Thunder Team, unfortunately losing both 17 - 25 and a close nailbiter 24 - 26.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16o_stingers += "In the crossover game, Orange faced the Stingers once again.&nbsp;&nbsp;The scores showed just how evenly matched the two teams were with the DRVC taking the first set 25-18 and another win for the second 25-12.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16o_stingers += "Our Gold Medal match had Orange facing the Markham Stingers Black.&nbsp;&nbsp;The team played well through the first games winning 25 - 21 and losing the second 19 - 25 forcing a third game.&nbsp;&nbsp;Once again, it was a nailbiter finish as we lost 15-13.<br /><br />";

art2012_u16o_u16provcup += "This was the first OVA tournament of our season and the girls played phenomenally.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16o_u16provcup += "Their first match was against the Titans, they lost the first game 25 - 11 but came back in the 2nd game to win 25 - 23.&nbsp;&nbsp;Unfortunately they lost the 3rd 15 - 7.&nbsp;&nbsp;The girls played some amazing volleyball during this match, they had some awesome rallies and fought hard during their 2nd game to win.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16o_u16provcup += "The 2nd match was against Durham Attack Black 15U.&nbsp;&nbsp;This was some of the best volleyball these girls have ever played!&nbsp;&nbsp;They won both games.&nbsp;&nbspIn the first, with a score of 25 - 23, their serving was great, they didn't give up during rallies and the hitting was incredible!&nbsp;&nbsp;The final score of the 2nd game was 27 - 25: they fought so hard, it was amazing!!<br /><br />";

art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "DRVC girls played first game with a strong start, easily defeating the Georgian Cubs 15U team with a score of 25 - 13.&nbsp;&nbsp;";
art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "Our team worked well together talking it up on the floor and calling the ball.&nbsp;&nbsp;Second game, Georgian Cubs fought back hard, but DRVC managed to win 25 - 17.&nbsp;&nbsp;";
art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "The referee was hilarious and kept the parents entertained talking to and teasing our coach Sean.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was curious to know, &quot;Who does Sean's hair in the morning?&quot;<br /><br />";
art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "The second match of the morning was against the Wildcats, who were more evenly matched.&nbsp;&nbsp;";
art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "DRVC started out strong, but lost points for some silly mistakes which resulted in a score of 25 - 12 for the Wildcats.&nbsp;&nbsp;";
art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "During the next game, DRVC came fighting back; working once again as a team, but unable to defeat the wildcats with a score of 25 - 23.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "After lunch, we played our third match against DRVC 15U Orange. Our team worked well together defeating the 15U team 25 - 11 and 25 - 19.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "The fourth match would decide the teams going to the gold event, creating lots of pressure for the team.&nbsp;&nbsp;";
art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "Once again, we were playing our own DRVC 15U team.&nbsp;&nbsp;The first game started out well with the teams being evenly matched until around 15 points.&nbsp;&nbsp;";
art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "Then the 15U team put on the pressure and broke away with the game and a final score of 25 - 18.&nbsp;&nbsp;";
art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "Our girls struggled with some injuries throughout the day which were noticeably exacerbated by the end of the day.&nbsp;&nbsp;";
art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "During the second game, the 15U team maintained a constant three point lead and won the game with a score of 25 - 19.<br /><br />";
art2012_u16o_u16challcup += "During our fifth match, we played Storm Hurricanes for Bronze.&nbsp;&nbsp;Although the girls were injured and exhausted, they had a strong start, controlling the score throughout the game with a win of 25 - 19.&nbsp;&nbsp;During the second game, the Hurricanes changed players.&nbsp;&nbsp;DRVC had a slow start and Storm won the first four points.&nbsp;&nbsp;DRVC fought to win slowly point by point.&nbsp;&nbsp;It was tough to gain any extra points with the last seven points being very close, gaining 1 - 2 points, then tying the game.&nbsp;&nbsp;The final score was 27 - 25 for our DRVC.&nbsp;&nbsp;Winning our second bronze medal for the season.<br /><br />";
