art_2011_u16_u17provcup += "DRVC 16U travelled to Cambridge on November 20 to compete in their first tournament of the season.  The team was going to be facing good competition in this 17U tournament. During pool play the girls faced Interclub 17U and the Scarborough Titans, splitting both matches while exhibiting strong serves and solid front row attacks.<br /><br />";
art_2011_u16_u17provcup += "DRVC came up against the Toronto Aces in their first cross-over match defeating them 25-22 and 25-20.  Improved passing and consistent serves contributed to their win.<br /><br />";
art_2011_u16_u17provcup += "Quarter final match was against the 16U Interclub squad.  Maddi gave the team a great start serving 7 rockets in a row.  Daria provided huge blocks and sweet sets and the girls took the first game 25-23.  They hit a bit of a road block during the 2nd game, coming up short, losing 25-8.  The third game was a close one, with DRVC victorious, 15-12.<br /><br />";
art_2011_u16_u17provcup += "On to the semi-finals against an impressive Defenca squad.  DRVC was playing solid volleyball, confident that they were ready for this test.  Shawna's passes and Daria's sets allowed for some timely hitting  Tips by Kirsten found the holes and communication on the court was improving.  As well as they played, DRVC came up short, losing a tough one, 25-21.  The second game, while short on result, was long on effort.  The girls struggled losing 25-7.<br /><br />";
art_2011_u16_u17provcup += "The bronze medal match was against the Waterloo Tigers.  This match went to 3 games.  DRVC winning the first 25-19, losing the second 25-21 and taking the 3rd, 15-11.<br/><br />";
art_2011_u16_u17provcup += "Over the course of the day there was plenty for which the girls should be proud.   Serves improved tremendously, back row passes were consistent, and communication between all players was evident. A solid team effort!<br /><br />";
art_2011_u16_u17provcup += "A bronze medal in this tournament was a great accomplishment.  Congratulations to the  coaches and girls on the 16 U team.  It was an impressive start to what promises to be an exciting season!";

art2011_u16_ontchamps += "After a tough season, 16U went to the Ontario Provincial Championships ranked 13th in all of Ontario.";
art2011_u16_ontchamps += "The goal for the team was to remain in Division 1, Tier 1.";

art2011_u16_ontchamps += "Friday morning found 16U facing the 4th and 5th ranked teams first.";
art2011_u16_ontchamps += "  Not being a morning team this proved to be a bit of a problem for the girls.";
art2011_u16_ontchamps += "  However, at the end of the day they had moved up from 4th in pool to 3rd in pool.<br /><br />";
