art_2011_u14_humber += "In our first warm-up tournament of the year the 14U's head off to Humber College.";
art_2011_u14_humber += "&nbsp;&nbsp;The team starts the season with a couple of injuries, Brier and Emma can only sit on the sidelines and cheer their teammates on but the girls were up for the challenge and it was clear that nothing was not going to stop our girls on this day.<br /><br />";
art_2011_u14_humber += "Everyone showed their DRVC spirit and did themselves proud by bringing home their first Gold Medal of the season and in perfect form, undefeated!<br /><br />";

art_2011_u14_provcup += "Our first OVA tournament took us to Stouffville on November 27 for the 14U Provincial Cup.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  After a successful pre-season result in the Humber Classic the girls wanted to make a good first impression in their opening OVA tournament.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  Our 14U Girls were seeded 8th in the tournament as they had not competed at the 13U level last season.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  DRVC was in a pool with the 2009-2010 13U Provincial Champions, the Markham Stingers.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  Later events in the day displayed the girls' resilience and determination even under difficult circumstances.<br /><br />";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "They started Round Robin play with a game against Interclub D2.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  The girls got off to a slow start in their first game but picked up speed and eventually took the match 25-12 and 25-10.<br /><br />";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "Next up for DRVC was a game against the 2009 13U Provincial Champions, the Markham Stingers.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  The girls had now warmed up and showed why they are considered one of the contenders at the 14U level.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  Markham proved to be a challenge but in the end the DRVC girls showed their skills with another win 25-17 and 25-18.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  We were now seated 1st in the &quot;A&quot; pool.<br /><br />";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "This would be when the parents of the team learned of a serious car accident involving one of our parents who was on the way to an OVA tournament in Kingston.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  Gillian and Rachel Poole were travelling the 401 and encountered a snow storm.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  The Poole's vehicle was struck by multiple vehicles and a transport truck.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  They had to be airlifted to Kingston General Hospital with life threatening injuries.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  Rachel's dad, who coaches DRVC 16U Orange, was at a tournament in Barrie with his team at the time.<br /><br />";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "Even with the parents aware of the earlier events, the girls on the team did not know what had happened.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  We were off to the quarter finals against another Stingers team.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  Our girls fought hard and defeated the Stingers 25-15 and 25 -18 to advance to the Semi's.<br /><br />";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "We faced the York Spartans and the team was prepared winning easily 25-4 and 25-13.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  During the second game Alisha's uncle arrived to take her to Kingston to be with her sister and mother, unaware of what had happened earlier in the day.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  All of the girls realized that something was wrong with the departure of Alisha, but fought hard to take the second game.<br /><br />";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "Now it was on to the GOLD medal game against our first round opponent Markham Stingers, but now the team knew that something was wrong.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  We started off very slowly trailing at one point 9-1, but were able to pull off a 25-23 victory in game one.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  In game 2 they struggled and Markham with some spirited play defeated DRVC 21-25 leading us to a tie breaker.";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  DRVC came out on fire starting with a commanding lead on serve and took the tie breaker 15- 10 to win the Gold medal!<br /><br />";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "Congratulations to all of the girls.  This was probably one of the hardest wins as the girls were made aware of the accident after winning the Gold Medal so most of the smiles turned to tears.<br /><br />";
art_2011_u14_provcup += "  Such reactions, however, show what a close-knit, special group we have.  The bonds of which make us what we are!  A team to contend with!";

art2011_u14_u15mcgregor += "On January 15, 2011, the DRVC U14 Girls were off to their first U15 tournament of the season after a disappointing 5th place finish the previous weekend at the 14U McGregor Cup in Newmarket.<br /><br />";
art2011_u14_u15mcgregor += "From the start the girls looked like they were on a mission to wipe the memories of the previous weekend.";
art2011_u14_u15mcgregor += "  Their first match of the day was against the Astros and the girls displayed some powerful kills and took the match 25-6 and 25-16.<br /><br />";
art2011_u14_u15mcgregor += "Next up was Phenix and again some great defensive and offensive displays resulted in a 25-8 and 25-15 win for our girls.<br /><br />";
art2011_u14_u15mcgregor += "This made them the number 1 seed in our pool.";
art2011_u14_u15mcgregor += "  After a bye into the quarter finals the DRVC girls would face Pegasus, but the girls had their game going and took the match in two straight 25-9 and 25-9, sending them to the semi finals.<br /><br />";
art2011_u14_u15mcgregor += "In the semis they faced the Thornhill Stingers and with excellent serving and some great offense the girls took the match 25-9 and 25-14, securing them either a Gold or Silver in their first 15U tournament.<br /><br />";
art2011_u14_u15mcgregor += "The Gold Medal match was a real test for the younger DRVC girls as they took on a talented team the, Scarborough Titans Shock.";
art2011_u14_u15mcgregor += "  The game started well for our girls but the Shock took the lead and looked to be on the way to a win in the first game, but the girls didnŐt give up and rallied back to tie and then take the first game 25-23.<br /><br />";
art2011_u14_u15mcgregor += "The second game was much the same, with the score going back and forth and the lead changing hands a couple of times, but the DRVC girls were determined and took game two 25-23 to take the GOLD!!!<br /><br />";
