art_15u_15uprovcup += "On November 28th DRVC played it's first official OVA 15U tournament of the year. The tournament took place in Markham at  Bill Crothers Secondary School, a beautiful facility with state of the art equipment. The school simultaneously hosted a 16U boys tournament which provided additional entertainment but slowed the progress of the tournament which ended about twelve hours after it began.<br /><br />";
art_15u_15uprovcup += "The team's first opponents were our sister DRVC team who provided challenging competition to us but the girls won their first match in two games. Our first match was followed by an extended break while two other sets of matches were played. This gave the girls a chance to rest and have something to eat while the parents sounded out the location of the nearest Tim Horton location.<br /><br />";
art_15u_15uprovcup += "Next up was the team from North Bay. The North Bay team played well, forcing a split of the first two games before DRVC prevailed in the third game. After another break in the schedule, DRVC faced the Peel Selects. The two teams battled back and forth with a third game being needed to determine a winner. DRVC battled back on several occasions showing great determination but eventually lost the third game by a score of 15-13.<br /><br />";
art_15u_15uprovcup += "The last match was against Durham Attack, both teams playing for the bronze medal.   The lead changed hands several times but Durham Attack was able to withstand a determined charge by the DRVC girls, defeating DRVC by a narrow margin in each of the first two games of the match.  The team is looking forward to our next tournament, the Mississauga 16U tournament this Saturday, December 5th.<br /><br />";

art_15u_16uprovcup += "On Saturday, December 5th, DRVC 15U participated in the OVA 16U tournament which was held at Rick Hansen Secondary School in Mississauga.<br /><br />";
art_15u_16uprovcup += "Their first opponents were the Orillia Suns. The Suns challenged DRVC in each of the two games of the match but DRVC squeaked out a win in each game with scores of 26-24 and 30-28.<br /><br />";
art_15u_16uprovcup += "Next up were the Clarington Grizzlies. In this Durham Region showdown DRVC played a strong first game but ended up splitting the match with one win for each team. The final scores were 25-11 and 21-25.<br /><br />";
art_15u_16uprovcup += "After the Grizzlies match DRVC had a very long break in the schedule during which time they completed their Christmas shopping and knit sweaters while the parents plotted the route to the nearest Tim Horton’s location.<br /><br />";
art_15u_16uprovcup += "By mid-afternoon, the team was back on the court to play the Barrie Elites. DRVC romped to a convincing 25-10 victory in the first game against Barrie. The second game was closer but again DRVC was victorious, winning by a score of 25-19.<br /><br />";
art_15u_16uprovcup += "The next game, played against the Aurora Storm, would decide who would compete for the gold medal in the tournament. DRVC got off to a great start, building a substantial lead in the first game but Aurora stormed back to take the first game 25-23. Aurora proved to be a powerful opponent in the second game as well, beating DRVC by a score of 25-10.<br /><br />";
art_15u_16uprovcup += "DRVC’s last opponents of the day were the North Bay Wildcats 16U. In the first game against the Wildcats DRVC built a comfortable early lead and hung on for a 25-21 victory. In the second game DRVC lost with the final score being 18-25. The deciding third game was hard fought throughout. The DRVC girls were very competitive throughout the game and won by a score of 15-6, capturing the bronze medal in the tournament.<br /><br />";

art_15u_16umcgregorcup += "DRVC went to Kingston on January 9th, 2010 looking to improve their skills and gain some experience in 16U play, finishing just out of the medals with a fourth place finish.<br /><br />";
art_15u_16umcgregorcup += "DRVC began the day by playing Storm Twister 15U. Storm Twister is always a formidable opponent and this day was no different with Storm taking both games of the match with scores of 18-25 and 15-25.<br /><br />";
art_15u_16umcgregorcup += "The next opponent in pool play were the Northumberland Breakers. DRVC rallied from their earlier setback, winning the match in two games straight with scores of 25-18 and 25-15.<br /><br />";
art_15u_16umcgregorcup += "Breaking out of pool play in 2nd place, DRVC did not have to play in the pre-quarter finals so their next game was the quarter final match against Durham Attack Red. In the opening game DRVC cruised to a 25-10 victory but  Attack Red countered with a 14-25 decision in the 2nd game. DRVC mounted a determined effort and won the third and deciding game of the match by a score of 15-6.<br /><br />";
art_15u_16umcgregorcup += "In the semi final match DRVC took on Phenix, winning the first game 25-18 but losing the last two games 11-25 and 7-15, sending DRVC to the Bronze match against Interclub. DRVC won the first game 25-21 but lost the last two games 18-25 and 12-15 thereby finishing the tournament in 4th place.";

art_15u_15umcgregorcup += "DRVC 15U finished in 10th position in the 2010 McGregor Cup Premier Division tournament on January 16th, 2010.<br /><br />";
art_15u_15umcgregorcup += "DRVC started the day by playing the very capable Storm Twister team. DRVC got off to a great start, romping to a 25-11 victory. Storm Twister roared back to take the second game by a score of 25-18, forcing a deciding third game. DRVC fought hard but lost to Storm Twister by a score of 15-7.<br /><br />";
art_15u_15umcgregorcup += "Next, DRVC took on Georgetown Impact, taking the match in two games with scores of 25-12 and 25-21.<br /><br />";
art_15u_15umcgregorcup += "In crossover play DRVC took on the South County Teal Bandits. DRVC won the first game by a score of 25-21, then lost the second game 20-25. The third and deciding game was as close as could be with DRVC narrowly losing by a score of 15-13 to end the day’s play.";

art_15u_16uchallengecup += "DRVC had a short but difficult day in Peterborough on February 6th, at the 16U Challenge Cup.<br /><br />";
art_15u_16uchallengecup += "Although they had some success during the day, DRVC ended the day in 10th place in the tournament. The team gained experience and was looking forward to better days ahead on the volleyball court.";

art_15u_15uchallengecup += "DRVC began the tournament on Feb 13th in Ottawa well rested, as a PA day allowed many members of the team to arrive at their hotel by the afternoon of the Friday before.<br /><br />";
art_15u_15uchallengecup += "The team’s first game wasn’t until mid morning at which time the opponent was the Toronto Diamonds Blue team. The Diamonds are excellent blockers, presenting a challenge for the team but DRVC prevailed in two straight games, winning  25-15 and 25-16.<br /><br />";
art_15u_15uchallengecup += "Our next pool match up was against Durham Attack Red who played two excellent matches but DRVC won again in two straight games, 25-21 and 25-23.<br /><br />";
art_15u_15uchallengecup += "In the quarter finals DRVC played against Fusion Red, winning both games by scores of 25-10 and 25-22.<br /><br />";
art_15u_15uchallengecup += "In the semi-finals DRVC took on Blizzard from North Bay and prevailed in two straight games once again with scores of 25-12 and 25-18. With this victory the team had fought it’s way back to the Premier division and had earned at least a silver medal.<br /><br />";
art_15u_15uchallengecup += "On to the gold medal game! Our opponent was Maverick Ambush. Ambush played with great skill and pushed DRVC to the limit. The first game was a narrow 25-23 win for DRVC. In the second game Ambush roared back, beating DRVC 28-26. The third game looked to be a nail biter but DRVC dug deep and won the rubber match 15-5 to clinch the gold medal.";
