DRVC 13U hung on to a narrow victory 27-25. Their second match would be against the home team, Stouffville Stingers 14U team and once again they had a quick start winning the first game 25-8 thanks to a very solid serving performance by Alisha Poole and some great “Gets” by Nicole Taylor. The Gold Diggers won both sets by scores 25 Š 27 and 24 Š 26. Our second game in pool play was against a very strong team Durham Attack Arif and our girls just never got going losing both sets 17 Š 25 and 16 Š 25. The girls last game of pool play was against the Northumberland Breakers and our girls were starting to get our game going and a strong performance allowed our girls to prevail 25 Š 15 and 25 Š 15. This would place our girls 3rd in Division 1 Pool B ready for the crossovers on Saturday.

";art_13u_14uprovincials += "Day two of the provincials, we played a very strong Scarborough Synergy Club in the crossover. The first set went the distance but Synergy took the first set 28 -26. Our girls were determined to take back the momentum and took the second set 25 Š 21 to force the dreaded tie breaker and our girls came out on fire taking the tie breaker 15 Š 13. Our second match was against the Selects 96 team from Brampton and with the girls riding a high from the previous math took the Selects 25 Š 16 and 25 Š 20. Our last match of day 2 would be against a team we had not see this year the Ballhawks Blue team from Blenheim. The girls were on such a high the older Ballhawks team didnÕt stand a chance and the13U girls took both sets 25 Š 17 and 25 Š 19 to take first place in our pool. Now we were off to the playoff round on Sunday!

";art_13u_14uprovincials += "Now, we were heading to the Tier 1 medal round. The next match was to decide whether we moved on or would be heading home, still with a respectful finish regardless of the outcome. Our first match would be against a very strong team from Oakville the Thunder Blue. After falling behind early the Oakville team was just too strong for our girls too make a comeback but lost a close one 23 Š 25. As this team has done all year they never gave up and took the second game in commanding style 25 Š 16 taking us to another tie breaker. With excellent serving and defense the girls prevailed 15 Š 10 to move on to the quarter finals an accomplishment that I think none of the players or parents could have imagined. We were still in a win or go home position but to finish in the top 8 in the Province was amazing. We would now take on the team from Georgetown who most of the girls had seen on the Halton Volleyball tournament with their schools and new that they were a very well coached and disciplined team. There was a large crowd gathered to see the smaller 13U team that was tearing up the Provincial Championships. The first game went back and forth with both teams taking a losing the lead but in the end we came out short losing 21 Š 25. In the second game our girls again were awesome but lost another close one 18 Š 25 ending their run. The girls finished tied for 5th place overall and outstanding result!

";art_13u_14uprovincials += "WELL DONE GIRLS AND A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO THEIR COACHES, CRIS, DAVE AND MARK FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE THIS WEEKEND.

";
