OVA Introduces Respect in Sport Parent Program

Beginning in the 2017/2018 season, each competitive club player registered with the OVA must have at least one parent complete the online Respect in Sport Parent Program (RIS). This 60-minute learning resource is dedicated to educating families on the prevention of bullying, abuse, harassment, and discrimination (BAHD). The cost of the online program is $12. Parents who completed RIS through another sport do not have to take the program again provided they are able to provide confirmation of RIS program completion. Players whose parent or guardian did not complete the certification will not be permitted to play in the OVA championships. This is a one-time program and does not need to be completed annually.
